Type Notes: 4
“The text of this book is set in Rubberfab, a typeface designed by W(allace) A(ddison) Moody for the Menlove Linotype Company and first made available in 1949. Rubberfab cannot be classified as either “old style” or “modern.” It is not based on any historical mold and hence does not echo any particular period or style of type design. It attempts nothing, in fact, and wisely avoids not only the extreme contrast between thick and thin elements which so drearily cumber the ground of most modern faces but those arresting eccentricities which catch the eye and interfere wih reading. In general, Rubberfab is a simple readable typeface that gives a feeling of calm, accessibility, and submission.”
